About Bocce Labs
Bocce Labs is a newsletter with a mission of inspiring the bocce community with innovative technology ideas in order to prepare our sport for growth.
Meet the team

My name is Dave 👋. Some call me "digital." Others call me "dangerous." I started BocceLabs to share ideas and inspiration for the future of bocce. My love for bocce ball is all about the great people you meet along the way. The sport is ripe for technological innovation and my goal is to dream about what those innovations could be by building proof of concept systems, sharing them on this newsletter, and hopefully inspiring change in our sport. I’m a software developer by day for a cybersecurity company and in the past, I’ve worked in the fields of computer vision education, computer networking, electronics manufacturing, and building wireless and radar systems as a civilian engineer for the US Navy and US Marine Corps.

Hi, I’m Gina! I fell into the sport of Bocce by accident but dove in headfirst after falling in love with the community & friendly competition at American Bocce Company. I met Dave through ABC and joined the BocceLabs team to contribute ideas to grow the technological innovation of the sport. I currently work in Machine Learning & Data Science, building models for the sales & marketing teams at a mobile computing company. In the past I have worked in a variety of fields, including the NFL, healthcare tech, and research/consulting. Originally from Minnesota, I reside in Chicago with my husband & 13-year-old rescue dog. I hold a Master of Science in Applied Data Science from The University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University Chicago.

Ciao, from Upstate New York. I’m Dino! While Dave and Gina are the technical brains behind the operation, I’m the social ambassador of the team and obsessed with all things bocce. When Dave began publishing the Bocce Labs newsletter, the first thing that came to mind was “How could I contribute?” So, I reached out and joined the Bocce Labs team of inspiring bocce enthusiasts. Whenever possible, I’m always promoting the sport and this beautiful game. Like Dave, Gina and Matt, it’s all about the passionate people you meet along the way. When I’m not playing bocce, you’ll find me in the vegetable garden with my two grandsons (Levi and Owen), curing salami, making wine, limoncello, and amaretto or volunteering for Special Olympics. Keep the balls rolling!
